Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur star explores MCU crossovers with Spider-Man and Miles Morales

Diamond White, the talented actress portraying Lunella Lafayette, also known as Moon Girl, in the animated series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, shares her anticipation for potential crossovers within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as the show gears up for its second season. The conclusion of the first season left Lunella in a state of limbo, having jumped into the void to close a wormhole caused by an unstable portal generator.

Season 2 promises to continue the thrilling adventures of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur while exploring interactions with other characters from the MCU. Diamond White, in a recent interview with The Direct, delves into her character’s prospects in both the animated and live-action realms of the MCU.

While Moon Girl’s character has remained adjacent to others in the MCU so far, with brief cameos from the likes of Sam Wilson and a meeting with Maria Hill at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, the show has teased its place within the MCU with the appearance of Beyonder, voiced by Laurence Fishburne, who serves as Moon Girl’s guardian and mentor.

Diamond White expresses her enthusiasm for the show’s potential and reveals her desire to reprise her role in a live-action adaptation of Moon Girl. She playfully mentions, “I mean, I hope it’s me. That would be cool. I mean, I would have to grow my hair out a little bit. But, um, I hope it’s me. I mean, I know I’m a little bit older, but hey, we can [make it work].” White conveys her preference for portraying Moon Girl but remains open to any roles Marvel Studios might offer, expressing gratitude for the opportunities her acting career has provided.

The first season already featured a notable Spider-Man reference in Episode 2, titled “The Borough Bully,” where Moon Girl encounters a villain under the influence of a Venom-like symbiote. Diamond White expresses her excitement about potential crossovers, especially with Spider-Man and Miles Morales. She shares her admiration for the characters, saying, “I want to see Spider-Man. I’m a big Spider-Man fan. Big Miles Morales fan as well. I would love to see that collab happen.”

This desire for crossovers aligns with the expanding narrative possibilities within the MCU, with the recent success of Spider-Man: No Way Home showcasing the potential for interconnecting storylines and characters from different dimensions.

As Season 2 of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur approaches its premiere on Disney+ on Feb. 2, fans eagerly anticipate the unfolding of Lunella Lafayette’s story and the potential introduction of exciting MCU crossovers, making the animated series a significant part of the larger Marvel narrative.
