“A heartwarming video showcases an enthusiastic Siberian Husky joyfully ‘dancing’ along to the DuckTales theme song sung by its owner.
Shared on social media, a charming video reveals an unexpected DuckTales superfan.
In the clip, posted on TikTok by @siberianderpskies, the account owner sings the beloved theme song of the classic cartoon while two Siberian Huskies named Leia and Archer react. Leia’s excitement is palpable as she starts running and ‘dancing’. The caption humorously notes, ‘POV: Your husky’s biggest trigger is late 1980s/early 1990s cartoon jingles.’
Adapted from Carl Barks’ Uncle Scrooge comics, DuckTales is an animated series that trails triplets Huey, Dewey, and Louie, alongside their great uncle Scrooge McDuck, as they embark on globe-trotting adventures in pursuit of hidden treasures and history’s secrets. Their escapades pit them against eccentric antagonists such as the Beagle Boys, Flintheart Glomgold, and Magica De Spell, all vying to seize Scrooge’s vast wealth or his coveted Number One Dime.
DuckTales Swiftly Gains Popularity Originally airing for 100 episodes between September 1987 and November 1990, DuckTales swiftly became a Disney sensation. Its successful weekday syndication paved the way for The Disney Afternoon programming block, featuring classics like Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers and TaleSpin. The show earned accolades, such as a nomination for Favorite Cartoon at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in 1988 and a nod for Outstanding Animated Programming at the 1989 Daytime Emmy Awards.
DuckTales Gets a Revamp DuckTales also received a companion feature film, DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp, premiering in 1990. Although praised by critics and fans, it struggled to recoup its $20 million budget, earning just $18.1 million. This financial setback led to Disney scrapping plans for further DuckTales movies. Nonetheless, the series was revitalized in 2017, featuring the same title. Developed by Matt Youngberg and Francisco Angones, the new iteration spanned three seasons and 69 episodes from August 2017 to March 2021.
Mirroring the original, the reboot continued the magical escapades of Huey, Dewey, and Louie with Uncle Scrooge, while also involving Donald Duck to a greater extent. The 2017 revival nabbed award nominations, including Outstanding Children’s Programming at the 2019 Imagen Awards and the 2021 GLAAD Media Awards.
Both the original DuckTales, its reboot, and DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp are accessible for streaming on Disney+.”
