During the AnimeJapan 2023 stage event on March 25, 2023, it was officially announced that Re:Zero Season 3 is in production, confirming previous leaks. The main cast members attended the panel, where a teaser and key visual were revealed to mark the announcement. The teaser showcased scenes from Arc 5, featuring the Water Gate city of Priestella and various factions such as Emilia, Crusch, Priscilla, Anastasia, Felt, and the antagonists from the Witch Cult. The key visual prominently features Emilia and Subaru. No further details about the studio or cast have been disclosed at this time.
Re:Zero Season 3 comes three years after the airing of Season 2 and is expected to air in 2023, barring any delays, according to leaks on Weibo. To celebrate the release of Season 3, light novel illustrator and original character designer Shinichiro Otsuka revealed a special commemorative visual.
Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World originated as a light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shin’ichiro Otsuka. The series, initially serialized on the website Shosetsuka ni Naro starting in 2012, has been published by Media Factory under their MF Bunko J imprint. So far, 32 light novels, five side story volumes, and eight short story collections have been released, with Volume 33 scheduled for release on March 29, 2023.
The first three arcs of the series have been adapted into separate manga series by different artists and published by various publishers, including Square Enix and Media Factory. Additionally, there are rumors of a manga adaptation for Arc 5 of Re:Zero.
