Despite grappling with back pain, Togashi persevered to continue drawing for his dedicated fanbase. As his condition worsened, he enlisted additional assistants to help alleviate the workload. Consequently, the weekly release schedule was discontinued, and sporadic manga releases were announced, casting uncertainty over the series. However, a recent tweet from the author has brought a glimmer of hope and delight to fans.

In a recent tweet from Togashi’s official account, he revealed the completion of chapter 401, demonstrating his dedication and concern for the future of Hunter x Hunter. Togashi acknowledged the irregular release schedule and expressed confidence that the issue will be resolved in due time. The tweet, which roughly translates to “Although the production system has not been solidified yet for the manga, I am glad that my working time at the desk is gradually increasing little by little,” garnered immense attention, amassing nearly 21 million views in just four days.
