Loki, do you recall?

In the latest episode of Loki, a whirlwind journey through various timelines sheds light on the backgrounds of beloved TVA variants. Among these tales, the alternate life of Hunter B-15 as a doctor slyly references a notable date in the Marvel timeline.
During Loki’s temporal traversal to her location, the displayed date reads “2012, New York, New York.” One might initially assume that the aftermath of the Battle of New York in The Avengers was about to unfold. To refresh your memory, this event marked Loki’s unleashing of a Chitauri invasion on Manhattan, orchestrated under Thanos’ influence, as part of his scheme to subjugate Earth.
The scene’s setup initially hinted at such a possibility, especially as B-15 tends to a young girl who suffered a broken arm. However, the reality of the situation playfully suggests otherwise. Rather than a mishap directly related to Loki, the incident turns out to be a result of a simple fall from a tree by the young girl.
Furthermore, it remains unclear whether this branched timeline had its own version of the Battle of New York. Given that B-15 appears to not recognize Loki, one might speculate that this event did not occur in this reality. Nevertheless, this clever inclusion serves as a delightful Easter egg for fans.
This particular nod is not the sole reference featured in episode 5. The installment also includes a subtle acknowledgment of true crime in Casey’s backstory and a hidden Zaniac Easter egg in the post-credits scene. Additionally, there seems to be a hint discreetly embedded within OB’s sticky notes.
