“Loki” Season 2 premiere runtime revealed, cast absent from press tour

The anticipation is building as the premiere of “Loki” Season 2 draws closer, and Marvel Studios is gearing up for what’s to come. While a new trailer, promotional posters, and TV spots are expected as part of the marketing campaign, there’s one notable absence from the promotional activities: the cast.

Due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) strikes, the show’s stars, including Tom Hiddleston, who plays the titular character, won’t be participating in the press tour. This means fans will miss out on the cast’s insights and excitement about the show’s return.

Instead, the responsibility for promoting the Disney+ series is likely to fall on the shoulders of Kevin Wright, one of the executive producers. While this may mean a more subdued marketing effort than usual, the show itself is expected to generate plenty of buzz as fans eagerly await its return.

In addition to this news, it has been revealed that the first episode of “Loki” Season 2 will have a runtime of 45 minutes, with approximately 6 minutes dedicated to credits. This runtime is consistent with the expectations for many TV series episodes. As is often the case, the opening episode will set the tone for the entire six-episode sophomore season.

It remains unclear whether episodes of the show will be provided to the press in advance, as studios sometimes withhold early access to prevent spoilers from circulating online ahead of the official premiere on October 6. Regardless, fans can expect the usual coverage and insights once the first episode drops.

“Loki” Season 2 picks up after the shocking season finale, with the character embroiled in a battle for control of the Time Variance Authority. Alongside Mobius, Hunter B-15, and a mix of returning and new characters, Loki explores the ever-expanding and increasingly perilous multiverse in search of answers about free will and purpose.

The series boasts an ensemble cast, including Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, and more, with Jonathan Majors, Ke Huy Quan, and Owen Wilson joining the lineup. The show features directors Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw, and Kasra Farahani, with Eric Martin serving as the Head Writer.

Fans can mark their calendars for October 6, when “Loki” Season 2 will begin streaming exclusively on Disney+. The continuation of the Multiverse Saga promises to be an exciting addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
