Kyoshi Cosplay Brings Avatar: The Last Airbender to Life

Despite its original series concluding in 2008, Avatar: The Last Airbender continues to enjoy immense popularity. With Netflix working on a highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the beloved series, set to provide updates at this year’s Tudum event, fans have even more reason to be excited. While Kyoshi never had her own animated series, she did receive two novels, The Rise of Kyoshi and The Shadow of Kyoshi, which delved into her life and experiences as the Avatar.

Avatar Studios, the production company behind the franchise, has previously confirmed the release of three animated movies. While the first movie is confirmed to feature adult versions of Aang and his friends, the details about the latter two are still shrouded in mystery. This has left many bending enthusiasts hoping that one of the movies will focus on Korra, the protagonist of The Legend of Korra. However, there’s also the possibility that the third movie will explore the captivating life of Kyoshi.

Kyoshi stands out as perhaps the most ruthless and formidable bender of all the Avatars. Throughout her time as the Avatar, she found herself in numerous perilous situations that required her to rely on her ruthless efficiency to save the world. While her story was primarily told through the two novels, there are undoubtedly numerous untold tales and unexplored facets of her life that could serve as compelling material for a feature-length film. Although she did not directly interact with the cast of the original series or The Legend of Korra, Kyoshi’s powerful legacy endured long after her passing, leaving an indelible mark on the world.
