‘Jake and the Neverland Pirates’ Actor Cameron Boyce Dies at 20

Cameron Boyce, a Disney Channel star, has passed away at the age of 20 after experiencing a seizure while dealing with a chronic illness. ABC News first reported this tragic news and confirmed it with Boyce’s family. Boyce was widely recognized for his role as Luke Ross on the Disney Channel series “Jessie” and as the voice of Jake in the popular Disney Junior animated series “Jake and the Neverland Pirates.”

In a statement released by Boyce’s family, they expressed their deep sadness over his passing, revealing that he had passed away peacefully in his sleep due to a seizure linked to his ongoing medical condition. While Boyce resided in Los Angeles, the family did not disclose whether he was at home at the time of his passing.

The family’s statement further emphasized that even though the world has lost a bright light, Cameron Boyce’s spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all those who knew and loved him. The nature of his illness remains undisclosed, and his sudden death has shocked many.

Just a day before his passing, Boyce had shared a photo of himself on social media, leaving fans in disbelief and hoping that the news was not true. He had also recently become actively involved in politics, introducing former Vice President Joe Biden at the Biden Courage Awards in March.

Cameron Boyce was set to appear in the upcoming Disney movie “Descendants 3,” directed by Kenny Ortega, where he reprised his role as Carlos, the son of Cruella De Vil. The film was scheduled to premiere on August 2, 2019.

In addition to his Disney projects, Boyce played Adam Sandler’s spoiled son in the 2010 comedy “Grown Ups” and was known for his philanthropic efforts. In 2017, he raised over $27,000 for the Thirst Project, an organization that works to provide clean water to underdeveloped countries.
