In the world of Pokemon, Tera raids have become a popular way for trainers to test their skills against formidable opponents. With each new Tera raid, trainers eagerly await the announcement of the next target, hoping to get a chance to face off against a powerful Pokemon.
Recently, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have been busy battling against Inteleon the Unrivaled, the latest Tera raid boss. As this battle draws to a close, players are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the next target. And just as the battles against Inteleon come to an end, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have revealed that the next seven-star Tera raid boss is an uncommon starter Pokemon.
Since the concept of seven-star Tera raid battles was introduced with the ninth generation of Pokemon games, each battle to date has featured a starter Pokemon as the target for trainers to take on. In April, trainers faced off against Samurott and Typhlosion, which were recently featured as starters from Pokemon Legends: Arceus. And now, with the conclusion of the Inteleon battles, players are preparing to take on the next starter Pokemon in the series.
According to Serebii.net, the ninth Pokemon Scarlet and Violet seven-star Tera raid battle will be against Chesnaught the Unrivaled, and it will have the Rock-type as its Tera Type. The battle begins on Friday, May 12, at 00:00 UTC and ends on Sunday, May 14, at 23:59 UTC. Chesnaught is the final form of Chespin, the Grass-type starter Pokemon from Pokemon X and Y on the 3DS. While it may not be as popular as other starters such as Greninja, Chesnaught is a formidable foe from the Kalos region with high physical attack and defense stats, and a versatile move pool to pick from.
As with other seven-star Tera raid bosses in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Chesnaught will have the Mightiest Mark and will have its Hidden Ability. In this case, Chesnaught’s Hidden Ability is Bulletproof, which makes it immune to bomb and ball moves, such as Energy Ball and Aura Sphere. Chesnaught’s signature move is Spiky Shield, which protects it from damage and hurts an attacking Pokemon that uses physical contact moves. As a bulky physical attacker, Chesnaught may also use additional moves such as Seed Bomb, Stone Edge, Close Combat, and Earthquake.
However, Chesnaught is not without weaknesses. Rock-type Pokemon are weak to Grass, Water, Ground, Steel, and Fighting-type attacks, so trainers will need to carefully plan their strategy and bring a strong Pokemon like Annihilape or a defensive wall such as Corviknight to take down the Spiny Armor Pokemon.
In addition to the upcoming battle against Chesnaught the Unrivaled, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have until Sunday, May 14, to claim victory over Walking Wake and Iron Leaves as well. Between these Tera raid battles, Pokemon trainers will have plenty of challenges to face soon.
