Kadokawa Games and Type-Moon have recently announced a new game called Fate/Stay Night: Emiya Gohan, which is a cooking game based in the universe of the popular Fate series. The game is set to be released digitally on the Nintendo Switch platform in Spring 2020, but unfortunately, there are no plans yet for an English localization.
The game puts players in the role of Shirou Emiya, who is the protagonist of Fate/stay night and the master of Saber. Fate/Stay Night: Emiya Gohan is based on the animated series Emiya-san Chi no Kyou no Gohan, also known as Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family. In this alternate universe, all the servants are alive and well, and the characters enjoy some peace.
In the game, Shirou is tasked with showing Saber how to cook, and to do that, he must go to the market, collect ingredients, and prepare a meal while being conscious of his budget as he doesn’t have too much money. Although the game is based on the animated series, it will feature an original story with unique scenarios.
The gameplay is rhythm-based, where players will need to tap buttons on the screen to prepare meals, and the developer has released the first trailer showing some of the gameplay and characters. The trailer reveals that players can select different dishes to prepare, and as they progress, they can unlock more recipes and ingredients.
Fans of the Fate series will surely enjoy playing Fate/Stay Night: Emiya Gohan, and even those who are not familiar with the franchise will find the cooking gameplay to be engaging and enjoyable. Let’s hope that an English localization will be announced soon, so that fans outside Japan can also enjoy this fun cooking rhythm game!
