Both Frozen and its sequel, Frozen 2, achieved box office success, collectively grossing over $1 billion worldwide. Disney’s new venture into the world of podcasts is a significant milestone, representing the first time the entertainment giant has expanded one of its iconic movie franchises into this audio medium. Disney announced a restructure in February, which included significant layoffs, as part of an effort to achieve $5.5 billion in cost savings. “Forces of Nature” is scheduled for launch in October, just ahead of the 10th anniversary of the original Frozen movie. Lynn Waggoner, Disney’s vice-president of global publishing, franchise content, and creative, expressed excitement about this audio-first offering, mentioning that Disney Publishing has been taking fans on adventures with Anna, Elsa, and Olaf for nearly a decade through various media, including storybook collections and middle-grade adventure stories. “Forces of Nature” is poised to continue this tradition by introducing fans to a spellbinding audio experience.
