Disney has revealed that a popular Disneyland experience will soon be closing its doors. If you’re a fan of this attraction, make sure to plan a visit to Disneyland to catch the show one last time before it shuts down in early 2024.
The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, is teeming with exciting rides and captivating performances. Be sure not to miss out on beloved attractions like Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Radiator Springs Racers, and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! If you’re in the mood for some leisure, take a ride on the classic attractions such as “it’s a small world,” the Jungle Cruise, or the Disneyland Railroad.
In addition to the much-loved attractions at Disneyland, visitors can enjoy live entertainment and shows spread throughout the park. The Disney Junior Dance Party is a hit among younger guests who love to groove along with their favorite characters. This lively show can be found at Disney California Adventure Park.
Many Disneyland enthusiasts are currently longing for the return of the beloved nighttime fireworks display, Fantasmic! The show has been closed since April 2023 after the Malificent Dragon caught fire during a performance, resulting in severe damage. While plans are in place for a reopening in Spring 2024, the show remains closed.
Another widely embraced attraction featuring captivating live performances is the Tale of the Lion King. This show, based on Walt Disney Animation’s 1994 film The Lion King, first debuted at Disney California Adventure Park in 2019 and later reopened at Disneyland’s Fantasyland Theater in 2022.
Unfortunately, fans of the Tale of the Lion King will be disappointed to hear that the attraction is set to close in 2024. Disney has confirmed that the Tale of the Lion King will permanently shut down in January 2024, with the final performance scheduled for January 7, 2024. Hurry to the park before then to enjoy the last rendition of “Hakuna Matata” and “Circle of Life” with your beloved Lion King characters.
This is not the only upcoming closure at Disney theme parks. Attraction closures have also been announced for Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, including the discontinuation of It’s Tough to be a Bug at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The show, based on Pixar’s A Bug’s Life (1998), has been a staple since the park’s opening day in 1998. The space is expected to be replaced by a new Zootopia-themed attraction.
