Darling in the Franxx artist creates new cover art featuring DBZ’s Androids reunited

In addition to Kentaro Yabuki’s cover art for the Dragon Ball Super Project Gallery, there have been numerous other artists who have contributed their own unique interpretations of the iconic series. From Tite Kubo, the creator of Bleach, to Yusei Matsui, the creator of Assassination Classroom, each artist brings their own style and perspective to the Dragon Ball universe.

The Dragon Ball Super Project Gallery is part of the series’ upcoming anniversary celebration, as Dragon Ball will be turning 40 in 2024. The gallery features various redesigns of the manga’s covers, with each cover focusing on a different aspect or moment of the series.

The eighteenth cover by Kentaro Yabuki is a reimagination of Volume 31 of the Dragon Ball Z manga. The original cover art features the Androids 16, 17, and 18 driving a car with the menacing Cell in the background. Yabuki’s cover retains the Androids, but removes the car and Cell’s first form. Instead, the Androids are shown standing in a snowy landscape with a new composition and design.

Kentaro Yabuki’s previous works include To Love Ru, Black Cat, and Mayoi Neko Overrun! He is best known for his latest work, Ayakashi Triangle, which began serialization in June 2020 and has already released 12 volumes. The manga has recently been adapted into an anime series, which premiered in January 2021.

As one of the most influential manga series of all time, Dragon Ball has inspired countless creators in the industry. Its impact can be seen in the works of many other manga artists and animators, making it a timeless classic that will continue to be celebrated for generations to come.
