During an appearance on the TigerBelly podcast, Daniel Dae Kim, who portrays Fire Lord Ozai in the upcoming series, assures fans that the show will be filled with comedy. Kim mentions the abundance of humor in the series and even jokes about bringing podcast host Bobby Lee on board for the second season. He also touches on various aspects of the show, including casting choices and the current production status.

This adaptation marks a second attempt at bringing Avatar: The Last Airbender to the live-action format. The previous film adaptation by M. Night Shyamalan received criticism for its lack of comedy, a key element of the original animated series. Utkarsh Ambudkar, who plays King Bumi in the Netflix version, assures fans that the new show will stay true to the source material and incorporate the appropriate humor.

Additionally, Kim reveals details about his own role in the project, referring to himself as the “Darth Vader character.” He portrays Fire Lord Ozai, the main antagonist and ruler of the Fire Nation. This role was previously voiced by Mark Hamill in the original animated series.

The series has completed filming and is currently in the process of creating visual effects. However, no official release date has been announced at this time.
